November 22, 1963: The Day Everyone Remembers

Almost everyone who was alive that Friday can tell you where they were when they heard. Our next film goes back to that afternoon and the long weekend that followed, as it reached homes, schools and workplaces across the country.

About the channel

The Century We Lived is made for people who remember these days, and for the children and grandchildren who want to hear about them. We work from the primary record: government documents, mission reports, newspapers of the day and archival film. Each film lists its sources, and we leave out anything we cannot back up.

Narrated by Michael Strange. Read more about how we make the films.
